Cameron Webb completes Eagle Scout project
Cameron Webb, a summer resident of Southport, Maine, a junior at Alpharetta High School, Alpharetta, Georgia and a Boy Scout with Troop 69, has created and completed a unique Eagle Project called Puzzles for Patients. This project is to provide a fun diversion for children patients at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta during their hospital stay.
Cameron collected 600 new puzzles and donations from family, friends, local schools, his church, troop, town of Boothbay and Southport residents and neighborhoods during his Puzzle Drive. He also put a sticker on each puzzle with a quote for the kids so they could be strong and get well … “You’re Braver than you Believe, Stronger than you Seem, and Smarter than you Think” — Christopher Robin to Pooh.
Cameron delivered all 600 puzzles to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and presented them to Dr. Daniel Salinas, chief medical officer of CHOA. Also, Cameron was the first one to use their new self-automated donation tablet to track and record donations.
Cameron and his family wish to thank all who supported him to help comfort a child by contributing puzzles and to help Cameron achieve his goal towards his Eagle Rank in Boy Scouts. Cameron proudly received his official Boy Scout Eagle Rank on January 28, 2016 in Alpharetta and celebrated his Eagle Court of Honor on June 26, 2016. On this special day, the American Flag flew over our Nation’s Capital in Honor of Cameron receiving his Eagle Rank as a Boy Scout and has been sent to him for a true keepsake.
Cameron is the son of John and Luanne Webb of Southport, Maine and Alpharetta, Georgia and grandson of Leo and Mary Lou Caron of East Boothbay and Augusta.
