Jazz Church Service July 17
Lincoln Arts Festival presents its annual Jazz Church Service, featuring Barney Balch and Friends on Sunday, July 17 at 10 a.m. as part of the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor's worship service. All are welcome!
This joyous and dynamic program has been a favorite of the Lincoln Arts Festival for over 20 years. It was the brain child of the late Ned Freeman who directed this service for many of those years. He is missed but we remember his gift of this happy tradition.
Barney Balch leads the Novel Jazz Quintet. The musicians of Novel Jazz have been performing straight-ahead jazz around Maine and New England for over three decades. They draw from the Great American Songbook and specialize in the works of Edward Kennedy ("Duke") Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. The band members hail from all over Maine - Portland, Belfast, Northport, Newcastle, Gardiner, Augusta and Waterville.
The church is located at the corner of Townsend and Eastern avenues in Boothbay Harbor.
