Boothbay youth football team wins championship

The Boothbay Region Youth Football varsity team won the CYFL Championship on Saturday, Oct. 31, defeating Five Towns, 33-0, at the Rockland District Middle School.
The team won a very intense second round game against undefeated Rockland Orange to get to the championship game. The team finished the season with 7 wins and only 2 losses.
BRYFL players are from Boothbay and surrounding towns including Wiscasset, Edgecomb and Southport. The varsity team is made up of 5th and 6th grade players. The league also has a junior varsity team that includes 3rd and 4th grade players and is hoping to have enough interest to form a pee-wee team next year for 1st and 2nd graders.
