Yellow Brick Road Show antique appraisals November 11
Richard Plunkett, “The Wizard” from The Wizard of Odds & Ends store in Alna, will be offering his services as an antique appraiser for the Yellow Brick Road Show on Wednesday, November 11, 4:30- 6:30 p.m., in the upstairs community room at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library.
Mr. Plunkett has been in the antique business for over 50 years, has taught elementary education for over 20 years and has restored buildings on the side. Now he maintains a shop at the old Head Tide store in Alna. Richard is a member of the New England appraisers, the National Trust, the Victorian Society in America and Portland Landmarks. He is celebrating his 52ndseason at his summer shop in Beach Haven, N.J.
On November 11, guests are encouraged to bring their antiques to the library for appraisal and are invited to stay and watch other appraisals. The appraisals are only $5 per item, with proceeds going to the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library. Most items can be evaluated, but gemstones, stamps or coins are not his expertise. Insurance evaluations and estate planning will also be discussed.
