BRES students honored at opening day assembly
As is tradition, the first day of school at Boothbay Region Elementary started off by honoring students who excelled in the previous academic year.
Honored students included those in the Math Club Team, which won Gold Standing for the 2014-2015 school year and also competed in the regional math meet at Kennebec Valley Community College.
Led by grade 5/6 math teacher Rita Arnold, and assisted by Desiree Scorcia, the regional meet team consisted of Kylie Brown, Emma Brewer, Cody Field and Will Perkins. Will finished in the top 20 scores, which allowed him to compete at the state meet. Three students competed as individuals, including Ryan Russell, Courtney Leckie and Kyle Hicks.
