Miranda Sherman of Southport and Anthony Filipiak of Fort Wayne, Indiana were married on Aug. 16, 2014 at Miranda's family's beach on Pratts Island Beach, Southport. Sue Friel of Scarborough officiated the wedding.

Miranda is the daughter of William and Anita Sherman of Southport. Anthony is the son of Thomas Filipiak and Cindy Saillant.

Miranda is a 2006 graduate of Boothbay Region High School and a 2012 graduate of Southern Maine Community College with a degree in landscape design. She currently works as a fire alarm inspector at Protection Professionals in Falmouth.

Anthony is a 2001 graduate of Bishop Luers High School and a 2006 graduate of Universal Technical Institute with a degree in automotive and industrial technology. He currently works as a CNC programmer at Helical Solutions in Gorham.

Matrons of honor were Miranda's sister Nicole Josephson and lifelong friend Angie Ender. Bridesmaids were sister-in-law Jennifer Spoon, groom's sister Steph Saillant Filipiak, and close friends, Lori Descoteaux, Becky Chace and De Desmarais.

Best men were brother of the groom, Chris Filipiak, and best friend, Andrew Blais. Groomsmen were brothers of the bride, Jay Spoon and Jack Sherman, brother-in-law of the bride Michael Josephson, and close friends Joe Blais and Michael Gilbert.

The wedding reception included a cocktail hour hosted at Mike and Laurie Dowling's followed by a sunset cruise dessert cruise aboard the Pink Lady.

The couple plans to take a honeymoon cruise.
