In an effort to make New Year's Eve as safe as possible, McSeagull’s, Pier 1 Pizza, Boat House Bistro, Robinson's Wharf, Mr. C's, Herringbones and China by the Sea will provide free cab service to and from the sponsoring Boothbay region establishments on Dec. 31, beginning at 5 p.m. The service will not end until the last celebratory person has been driven home.

The cabs will provide service to the entire Boothbay peninsula. Anyone in need of cab service beyond the Cod Cove Inn at the end of Route 27 or the junction of River Road and McKay Road will be responsible for the appropriate fare established by the cab they choose. All other fares not to or from one of the sponsoring establishments will also be the responsibility of the patron.

The local cab companies are: BoBo's Coastal Cabs: 207-380-4182; Stan's Boothbay Taxi: 207-380-1409; Richard's Riverside: 207-350-6639; and Tiny's Taxi, 207-315-5873.

Please be aware: Due to volume or weather conditions, there may be a wait for service, so be patient; you will get your ride. The cabs will be working together to provide everyone with the most prompt and safe service possible.

Most importantly: do not call multiple cabs as this will slow the overall service down tremendously. Gratuities (tips) will not be expected; however, they will be thankfully and graciously accepted.

Robinson's Wharf — regular menu and specials during regular hours.
