The owner of About Face Skin Care Salon in Boothbay Harbor and Damariscotta, Linda Forgues, said she will be consolidating her two salons to her Damariscotta location.

After 13 successful years at 18 Todd Avenue in Boothbay Harbor, Forgues said it makes sense for her to focus her time, energy and resources on the Damariscotta salon, where business remains steadier year-round.

“We have had a great eight years at our Damariscotta salon, and it keeps on growing strong,” she said.

“A lot of my customers in Boothbay Harbor are people who are here for the summer,” Forgues said. “I am very thankful to them and I'm hoping they, and my other regular customers, will come to the Damariscotta location, only 20 minutes away. Their loyalty and the friendships I have made there remain important to me.”

Forgues' staff will be helping her along in the transition, and will be available for their specialty treatments in the Damariscotta salon.

A variety of skin treatments are offered, including facials, peels, waxing, tinting and make-up by Forgues, Jennifer Lewis and Irene Plummer.

Special innovative treatments include Microcurrent facial toning and lifting, and Vascutouch, which removes skin tags, cherry angiomas, broken capillaries and minor sun spots.

Also available are microdermabrasion, dermaplaning and advanced peels. Nail services are provided by Lewis and Forgues' daughter, Lauren.

Darlene Terry and Susi Higgins Walker offer massage therapy.

The Damariscotta Salon carries a large variety of skincare products and cosmetics, including bareMinerals, Skinceuticals, LeMieux, Murad and Blinc.

The salon also works on weddings and makeovers.

The move will be finalized on Dec. 1. Forgues will be participating in the Early Bird sale in Boothbay Harbor on Nov. 22, and gift certificates purchased during the sale will be redeemable at the Damariscotta location.

Forgues said some items from the Boothbay Harbor location are for sale, including shelving, mirrors, cabinets and display items.

At this time retail hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Services available Monday-Saturday by appointment or walk-ins by chance. 

There will also be special skin-care and make-up events scheduled throughout the year.
