During mid-Novmber at Boothbay Region Adult Ed you can increase your skill using Microsoft Excel, become more familiar with the functions and settings on your digital camera, create a beautiful beaded snowflake ornament, and more! Don't forget to sign up early to avoid being disappointed. We cancel classes due to low enrollment usually a day or two before they are scheduled to begin.

Mail Merge is a one night workshop, Thursday, Nov. 13, that can save you hours of time. You'll learn to use the merge function on your computer for when you need to send the same document to multiple people, make labels, or print an envelope, personalize holiday newsletters, documents, and more. Prerequisite: computer and MS Word experience. The workshop is 6 to 8 p.m., and the cost is $14.

Learn to take great photos with your camera! Get to Know Your Digital Camera will help you better understand your camera’s features. Bring your digital camera (with fresh batteries) and manual to this hands-on class. Learn to access different settings and functions. We'll discuss general camera basics, automatic settings, exposure modes, flash, and how to customize settings to get the pictures you want. So, get ready, set and let's go. The class is Nov. 18 and 20, 6 to 8 p.m. and the fee is $28.

Take Beaded Snowflake Ornaments on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m., to learn how to make beautiful snowflakes that will sparkle hanging from your Christmas tree. Use your creativity working with silver wire and a variety of colored and clear crystal beads. Learn how you can make snowflakes for window decorations, or to embellish Christmas packages. Add interest to your holiday buffet by suspending a few snowflakes from fishline over the table! The registration fee is $15, plus $8 supply fee paid to instructor on class night.

In Advanced Excel you'll build more complex spreadsheets and advanced formulas; connect multiple pages, and sort, hide and analyze data. Apply these to specific situations and problems; work with formulas and functions; calculate dates/times; pivot tables, charts shortcuts; audit spreadsheets for errors. An essential class if you use Excel in the workplace or if you are job hunting. Prerequisite: Experience with Excel or a Basic Excel class. This three session class meets on Nov. 18, 19, and 20, 6-8 p.m. The fee is $36.

Holiday Cardmaking is a fun, one evening class on Nov. 12 to be creative and design your own unique cards. No special talent required! You'll work with cardstock, other craft papers and stamps. The class is on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 6-8:30 p.m., and the fee is $14 plus $10 supply fee paid to the instructor at class. Please register by Friday, Nov. 7.
