Public Works director and town part ways

On Sept. 30, the Boothbay Register learned that Public Works Director Jody Lewis was no longer employed by the municipality.
His current employment status was confirmed by Town Manager Tom Woodin.
According to Woodin, an appeals process is currently ongoing.
An executive session of the Boothbay Harbor Board of Selectmen was held on Friday, Oct. 3 at the town office. This session was called at least in part to discuss the situation with Public Works, according to Lewis.
According to Woodin, the session lasted from 7 to 8:45 p.m. and no votes were taken or decisions made.
The Register is actively pursuing more information in regards to this developing story.
