Conlin family heads library annual appeal
The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library is thrilled to have the Conlin family of Boothbay as our 2014/2015 Annual Appeal Fund Chair. The Conlins moved to Boothbay from the Boston area in 1997 to, as they describe it, “escape the Big Dig.”
They own and operate Maine Coast Stove and Chimney, based out of Wiscasset. An active family, they enjoy camping, hiking, ice skating, going to the beach, taking field trips both near and far, and of course, reading a lot.
Robert and Eve Conlin said the following regarding the library and becoming the newest Appeal Fund Chair:
“We are blessed to live in Boothbay with our six homeschooled children. We consider the library to be one our most important and cherished resources in the region. It's free, welcoming, and open to all ages and interests.
“In addition to being avid readers of library books, some of our most interesting and rewarding experiences have come courtesy of the library and its diverse events and programs. Through our participation in the Spelling Bee, and our attendance at numerous literary luncheons, Story Hours with Miss Mary, and the annual Poetry of Wine event, our lives have been greatly enriched.
“We are honored and delighted to have been asked to help with the library's fundraising campaign. We can think of no other local cause we could support more wholeheartedly, or with more enthusiasm. From our family to our local community and beyond, we ask you to please support the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library with your generous donation to keep the library's vital services and opportunities available to many more generations to come.”
