Another vote to reconsider courts
Dear Editor:
Yes, by all means, please reconsider the placement of the basketball courts and parking. Jim Powers idea (Letters, 6/5) works. A landscape designer (please volunteer) would be very helpful here.
Now, about the Blue Star Memorial marker which is already dedicated to all service men/women who have served, do serve and will serve in the future. We don’t need another one, just an expansion of the present site would be a valued treasure in our community. The present Blue Star site was introduced, expanded and funded by the Boothbay Region Garden Club and Linda Redman, a valued member and the state chairman for the encouragement of Blue Star refurbishments and new memorials in the State of Maine. This Blue Star marker is part of a national program started by the National Garden Club and locally sponsored by the Boothbay Region Garden Club. Wouldn’t it be lovely to see this park upon entry to our beautiful town and honoring our veterans as well?
Please let your thoughts be known, someone is waiting for your ideas. Our club theme this year is “Beautify and Care for Our Community.” What better way than this?
