Salon Capella moves to a new location
Salon Capella studio has moved from their old location at 4 Boothbay House Hill Road to 31G Townsend Avenue, in the Gleason Art building. The entrance can be reached via the municipal parking lot.
“We moved here because we needed more space, and the parking situation is much better,” said Cole Whitney, who works at the salon during the summer months. He is also planning on coming up every few weeks to maintain his summer clientèle year-round.
Also working at the salon are co-owners Heather Savage and Lisa Walby, and stylist Rachel Higgins. Higgins, Whitney and Savage all specialize in hair, while Walby does manicures, pedicures and reflexology. For special events, Walby and Whitney team up to do hair and makeup together.
“We love it,” Walby said. “Heather and I spent time earlier in the month painting, and then we brought everything down and decorated in four days. Cole and Rachel helped us move stuff as well.”
“Heather came in with a clear vision on how she wanted the salon to look,” Whitney said. “Both she and Lisa have a great sense of color — it's so light and airy, and very welcoming.”
“This space is so much bigger, and I feel can give more individual attention to each client,” Savage said. “It's a great change for us.”
Eventually the salon will have a sign on Townsend Avenue, but for now, they are directing clients to their new location when they make or confirm appointments. Both Higgins and Whitney are currently taking new clients. The salon can be reached at 207-633-5555.
