Touched and humbled
Dear Editor:
I would like to start by saying how touched and humbled my family and I are from all the support we have received and continue to receive from our friends, family, classmates and community! We were planning on writing this thank you once we knew as a family what we were going to do, but the process is a long one, and we didn't want to go any longer without letting you all how grateful we are.
On February 5 of this year, our house was destroyed by fire. Even as our house was burning, neighbors turned up to make sure we were safe, fed and had a place to stay. The acts of kindness and donations that will help us rebuild in this community that takes care of their own is nothing short of life changing. We have received prayers and well wishes from England to Japan, California to Florida and Boston to Canada. Our schools, local organizations, family, friends, businesses and even strangers have all stepped forward and help ease our pain.
The list is a long one of people and organizations we would like to thank. Pam, Aimee (Oliver), Tom and Karen, Corrinne, Penny, Dave, Margaret, Marie, Bonnie, Daren, Boothbay Animal Hospital, well, you get the idea how impossible it is to thank everyone individually. Believe me we thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of our hearts for all you have and are doing for our family.
Finally I would be remiss if I didn't thank my BRHS Class of '71! You have gone above and beyond anything I could have imagined. My love for my classmates is matched by my respect and admiration for each and everyone of you. If you look up the word "friendship" in Webster's, there should be a line that simply reads "BRHS Class of '71!"
We are truly blessed to live in such a loving and giving community! When we settle we will update you on how we are doing. Until then: Thank you!
