Bravo to Sen. King
Dear Editor:
Political contributions in the hundreds of thousands or even millions.
In Citizens United, the Supreme Court ruled there could be no limits on donations to certain types of organization.
These organizations claim to be social welfare groups but have become de facto political groups. The court expected the donors would at least be identified, so voters would understand where the money came from.
The U.S. Senate, however, in 2012 with every Republican voting against disclosure, frustrated the court's wishes.
Now corporations or billionaires can give unlimited amounts in total secrecy.
Sen. King is working to round up the votes to let us average people know if it is George Soros or the Koch brothers paying for the avalanche of ads we will shortly be seeing. I think all Americans want to know. Thank you, Sen. King.
