Advantage: Excavators
The weather was just about right for a game of tennis on Thursday, April 3.
It was also right for some dilapidated tennis courts to be torn down, as was done by excavators operated by Boothbay Harbor Public Works Director Jody Lewis and Reny Construction’s Steve Reny.
The well-worn community tennis courts on the high school property parallel to Townsend Avenue were scheduled to be torn up for safety reasons. The three new courts on the school’s property should soon see some fine tennis action in the next few weeks.
The town selectmen are still collecting ideas on what to do with the space that formerly held two regulation sized tennis courts. Members of the public can send ideas to Board Chairman Bill Hamblen at whamblen@alumni.bowdoin.edu.
