‘Getting Away Together’ Boothbay episode complete
It took just over six months to make the Boothbay region the first ever New England town featured in an episode of “Getting Away Together.”
“Getting Away Together” is a reality travel show produced by PineRidge TV from Jacksonville, Fla. The Boothbay episode is part of the show's second season.
The show was delivered to Audrey Miller at Cottage Connection on February 20. When the credits rolled, Miller said she had tears in her eyes.
“It's a wonderful, warm, friendly, honest look at a beautiful part of the world,” Miller said. “If I had never been here before, I would want to come.”
The shows tells the story of six Cajun women as they visit the people and places of the Boothbay region.
Miller said the show's producers did an exceptional job capturing the essence of the area and showcasing the Boothbay region as a dream destination.
It took over four days of filming in early October and then months of editing, writing and mastering footage, which was all boiled down into a 30-minute episode.
Miller said the show achieved its purpose on many levels. Not only are the characters very likable, but the show makes good use of sights and sounds of the region.
Miller expects the show to premier at the Harbor Theatre in late April or early May. There will likely be multiple showings.
While the Boothbay Register won't give away any spoilers, we've provided a sneak peak of the episode.
