Considering the position you are running for, what do you feel are the three most pressing issues?

Dear Friends and Neighbors in Boothbay Harbor, As a dedicated member of our community and a CSD School Board member for the past decade, I am announcing my candidacy for re-election to the school board.

Strategic financial management is a critical issue for our schools and across Maine. Now more than ever, our school requires navigating complex financial situations, exploring innovative funding solutions to address school repairs and operations, and ensuring transparent and accountable budget management that the community can trust. If re-elected, I will continue to bring thoughtful and reasoned perspectives to these complex financial situations. I will prioritize listening to the community, fellow board members, administrators, staff, and, most importantly, our children. I am committed to fostering consensus, even when faced with differing viewpoints.

A second major area of concern for our schools is communication and community engagement. If re-elected, I will continue to consistently communicate the challenges and progress of school projects, budget constraints, and infrastructure needs to parents, staff, and the wider community. My goal is to build trust and understanding through transparency, actively involving the community in finding solutions and supporting our schools. As a parent in Boothbay Harbor, I have always been grateful for the incredible community support that this region has for our schools.

Another critical need for our schools is revisiting and strengthening a long-term, pragmatic vision. A clear community vision for the future of education is imperative while being realistic and adaptable in addressing immediate challenges facing our schools. This includes actively advocating for the needs of our schools by effectively representing them to local and state authorities to secure necessary funding and support for infrastructure and educational programs.

I deeply care about our children, our dedicated teachers, and our vibrant community here in Boothbay Harbor. I pledge to work tirelessly to find solutions that enable us to maintain an exceptional educational experience for generations to come.

For a decade, I've proudly served on the CSD School Board, and I'm seeking re-election with unwavering commitment to our thriving schools – the heart of our region and our town's future. My experience ensures we continue providing the high-quality education my son received to all future generations. I respectfully ask for your vote to continue this vital work. I am humbly asking for your support and your vote for re-election.
