Superintendent should be held more accountable by school board
Mon, 03/31/2025 - 5:14pm
Dear Editor:
How could our school superintendent run up an architect’s bill of over $200,000 without any prior board approval, potentially leaving local taxpayers on the hook?
And why are we all just finding out about it now, months after the fact?
Those were some of the questions asked during a hurriedly called meeting that some characterized as “an autopsy” at the AOS 98 office Friday morning.
I believe this issue could probably have been avoided if our local school board did a better job supervising the superintendent and holding him more accountable.
I will make it a priority to better monitor the superintendent and his future activities if I am elected to the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor CSD School Board.
