Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club
Monday, Feb. 17, the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club hosted the Community Lunch at Brady's. It was a benefit for Robbie and Kristen Campbell who lost their home to a fire last Wednesday. Judi White cooked an old family recipe, there was Brady's famous fish chowder, pea soup from Irene and the Boothbay Fire Auxiliary members made American Chop Suey. Plus, lots of cookies and desserts from Rotary members' kitchens. Thank you Brady's Restaurant. Community Lunch every Monday during the winter is an example of why this is such a special and caring place to live.
This Thursday, if it doesn't snow again, we will welcome Tammy Plummer from the First Bank with a talk about Internet and Social Media security, in other words, Internet Scams. The scammers are getting more devious and clever every day, so we need to be aware of how to prevent our personal information from being used by them. So, join us. We haven't met in a while, so it will be fun to see you.
On Feb. 27 we'll pretend we're in warm New Orleans and celebrate Mardi Gras. So, get your costumes ready. There will be “fabulous” prizes, beads, Cajun music and King Cake. “Laissez les bons temps rouler.”
The Barn clean up is now scheduled for Saturday, March 1, at 9 a.m., not 9:30 … Irene was hoping for another half hour of sleep, but 9 it is.
Come join us, we meet most Thursdays at 6 p.m. in our clubhouse at 66 Montgomery Road, Boothbay Harbor.
