The future of the Windjammer Days festival will be decided soon.

The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce has put out a request for proposals to organizations that may be interested in stewarding the festival, but only one group has submitted a proposal so far.

The Friends of Windjammer Days submitted its proposal outlining a self-sustaining committee under the nonprofit organization of the Chamber.

Chamber's Executive Director Catherine Wygant Fossett said although only one proposal has been received, other organizations are interested in Windjammmer Days. Fossett said all proposals are due by December 13.

The Chamber's Board of Directors will then meet on December 17. The prospective bidder will be notified by December 20.
