Dear Editor:

As many people know, this year brought to our family a tragedy that is still hard to comprehend. We are still suffering from our loss. however, we wanted to publicly extend our heartfelt thanks to our community of family, friends and neighbors, who came together to embrace us through their words of encouragement, offers of support and lovely cards and gifts. The Elementary School, the High School, the YMCA, local businesses, churches, and many other groups and individuals have been so thoughtful.

In this season particularly, the generosity extended to a family that will be navigating the rest of their lives in a way so unexpected has touched our hearts.

We are reminded of Victor Hugo’s mantra, “To Love is to Act.” The amount of support from the people in this community and beyond, is one of the greatest acts of love and kindness our family has ever known. Just know, we are humbled and blessed to live in this community.
