Change of use approved for former East Boothbay post office building
There is a new antique business coming to East Boothbay. On Dec. 18, the Boothbay Planning Board approved a change of use for DECKSZ, LLC, represented by Dan Miller the owner of Ocean Point Marina. He sought a change of use for his building which once housed the East Boothbay post office.
Miller told the board his new tenant is the East Boothbay Trading Post. The board voted, 5-0, conditionally approving Miller's request. The lone condition is for Miller to place five signs designating customer parking. The property is on Ocean Point Road in a commercial district and shoreland overlay zone.
In other action, the board approved a permit for Luke's Boatyard, Inc. located at 15 Luke's Gulch. Lauren Stockwell of Stockwell Environmental represented the applicant who sought approval to repair a pier and mast storage shed.
The board also heard a pre-application presentation made by Boothbay Harbor Country Club and PGC2, LLC. The applicant sought planning board feedback about a future application regarding additional parking for the Wellness and Fitness Center located on 50 Sugar Maple Lane.
The board meets next at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 in the conference room.
