Working together
Dear Editor:
The Boothbay Region Meals on Wheels board members would like to thank Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens for their festive gift of mini pumpkins which we were pleased to deliver with meals recently. It is a perfect example of non-profits in the area working together to support our community.
Since our organization is not part of the federally-funded Meals on Wheels program, we depend on the financial support of our friends in the three towns we serve on the peninsula. As we approach the season of giving, please consider a tax deductible donation. Contributions can be sent to our treasurer, Peggy Peters, at 82 Oak Street, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.
Thank you also to those who responded to our earlier request for financial donations to help provide for recipients who are not able to cover the full cost of the meals. Lastly, thank you to the staff at St. Andrews Village and the volunteer drivers who prepare and deliver over 5,500 meals each year!
So much to be thankful for.
