A grand prize of $250 will be awarded in the Family Christmas Ornament Decorating Contest, with other prizes for adults and children in five age categories.

The Eastside Waterfront Park Committee has announced the contest will begin Monday, Nov. 18 and run through Friday, Dec. 6, with the winners announced on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Ornaments should be picked up at the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce office on Townsend Avenue beginning Nov. 18. Those entering the contest should drop off their ornaments on Dec. 7 at The Footbridge House (on the footbridge) between noon and 2 p.m. Ornaments will be judged at 2 p.m. and winners will be announced at the Whale Park that afternoon.

If you choose not to enter the contest, hang your decorated ornament on your tree at home.

Decorated ornaments will be available for pick up starting Dec. 9 at the Chamber office during regular business hours.
