Chili, chowder and music
The aromas of chili and chowder and the voices of visitors filled the Boothbay Harbor Shipyard during the second annual Harbor Fest on September 28.
Attendees voted on the best of the two food items for 2014 while the yard's shop echoed with music and laughter.
Craig Andrews of Andrews' Harborside (last year's chowder winner) made a traditional chowder that was full of flavor and more than lived up to its reputation. Andrews had run out of chowder by 6 p.m. Over the course of the night, he handed out more than four gallons of the tasty Maine tradition in 2 ounce sample cups.
The chili booths were filled with regional favorites, including offerings from McSeagull’s, Brown's Wharf, Rose's Cafe, Cooks Landing, Boothbay Lobster Wharf, Andrews' Harborside and others.
