Angie and Will Perkins stand next to the sign they helped make and put up on their parents' lawn on Townsend Avenue earlier this week, promoting the public meeting Wednesday, Aug. 22, about St. Andrews Hospital and the closute of its emergency room.

The meeting will be held in the Boothbay Region Elementary School gym at 7 p.m.

They are the children of Tom and Laura Perkins. Laura Perkins said several motorists driving by have waved or honked their horns in support. Tom Perkins reports that both Angie and Will have been treated in St. Andrews ER. Will might have lost the use of his right arm had there not been a vascular surgeon there late one Saturday afternoon.  And a gash on Angie's leg, which required many stitches, would have been "after hours" at the urgent care center adminstrators say will replace the ER in 2013.
