    A bright, sunny day provided for a successful fundraising event for Boothbay Harbor Fire Department on Saturday, July 27 at Sherman Field, Boothbay Region High School.

    The department held a three-hour barbecue with burgers, chicken, potato chips, cole slaw and more, and activities included a dunk tank, face painting, a bounce house, raffle, and music provided by a three-piece band.

    “It went great! We all had fun and there was so much community support,” said Anna Christina, a Boothbay Harbor firefighter and one of the organizers of the event. “The auxiliary was a huge help bringing this all together and our sponsors made this happen!”

    Christina estimated that about 250 people attended the event.
