Joan and Gary Spurgat, Sr. of Edgecomb are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Diana Joan Spurgat, to Mr. Luigi Lubrano on June 22. Luigi is the son of Ida and Nicola Lubrano of Molise, Italy.  

Diana Joan Spurgat Lubrano is a graduate of Wiscasset High School, class of 2000, and received a bachelor’s degree in theological studies from Hobart & William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York, in 2004. She is currently employed as an Investor Relations Associate at a New York City hedge fund.  Diana has been a resident of New York City since 2005.

Luigi Lubrano is a graduate of South Shore High School of Brooklyn, New York and attended college in Brooklyn.  

The ceremony was held at the Edgecomb Congregational Church in Edgecomb with the Reverend Peter B. Panagore officiating.  A reception was held at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport immediately following the ceremony.

The wedding party consisted of the following people: Co-Matrons of Honor, Natalie Castonia and Gretchen Shippee (the bride’s sisters); Bridesmaids: Maria Frassetti (the bride’s sister-in-law), Caitlin Leary, Erica Meyers, Emily Prober and Holly Shepard (the bride’s best friends from college and New York City); Best Man: Jack Hughes (the groom’s best friend); Groomsmen: Anthony Lubrano, Nick Lubrano (the groom’s brothers), Adam Spurgat and Gary Spurgat (the groom’s brothers-in-law); Flower Girls: Emma Castonia, Elisabeth Frassetti, Alexa Frassetti,  Ava Lubrano, Grace Shippee, Madeline Shippee, Ryann Shippee and Naia Spurgat (the bride and groom’s nieces); Ring Bearers: Jack Castonia and Evan Shippee (the bride’s nephews)
Sign Holder: Kahalewai Spurgat (the bride’s nephew).

The wedding dress was from Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City and the bridesmaids’ dresses, groom and groomsmen’s suits were from the J. Crew wedding line. Ceremony music was provided by Matthew Fogg of Topsham. Reception music was provided by DJ Zeke Stern of Murray Hill Talent based in Malden, Massachusetts. Photography was provided by Cuppa Photography of Freeport and videography was provided by Jeff Brouillet Films of Boston, Mass. Wedding flowers were provided by Boothbay Region Greenhouses of Boothbay Harbor and by the Harraseeket Inn. Invitations were designed and created by Steel Petal Press in Chicago, Ill. The groomsmen’s ties, Vineyard Vines, were provided by the House of Logan in Boothbay Harbor.

A rehearsal dinner hosted by the bride’s parents and siblings was held at the Davis Island Grill in Edgecomb. The bride was honored prior to the wedding with a surprise bridal shower hosted by the groom’s mother and sister.

The newlyweds took their honeymoon in Prince Edward Island and are also planning to spend their first Christmas as a married couple in Rome, Italy. The couple currently reside in New York City’s upper east side.
