Creativity thrives at the Merry Barn, where kids let their imaginations soar at our theme-based camps. Whichever adventure you choose, you’ll spend a week writing, reading, and exploring. We’ll walk and sketch in the fields and forest around the barn, create art, and perform. We’ll learn tricks of the trade from professional authors, artists, actors, and musicians. Each week ends with an Authors’ Tea or World Premiere for families and friends.

Kids ages 6-10 can choose from two different Storytree Theatre camps. Adventure on Shipwreck Island runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the week of June 24-28; and A Space Odyssey takes off the week of July 8.

Writing the Next Chapter for Our Favorite Characters is a week for our youngest campers, ages 6-8. Camp runs the week of July 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with optional aftercare until 3:30 p.m.

Adventurers ages 8-14 can choose from Myths, Legends, and Games Around the World, July 15-19; The Magic of Maine, July 22-26; Imaginary Worlds and Fantastical Characters, July 29-Aug. 2; Creative Arts Fusion, August 5-9, and Under the Big Top, August 12-16. These camps meet from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Financial assistance is available.
