Lincoln County Television is pleased to announce six nights of shows for Thanksgiving week, including a Damariscotta Shellfish Committee live stream on Tuesday, Nov. 21 the 11th episode of Vintage Racers Roundtable on Friday, Nov. 24 and a Sunday, Nov. 26 Damariscotta Historical Society presentation on blacksmithing. 

The week kicks off on Tuesday, Nov. 21 with a YouTube live stream at 6 p.m. The Damariscotta Shellfish Committee will host a meeting at 6 p.m. at the Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust to discuss aquaculture in our area. While this is open to the public, due to limited space, the public is encouraged to attend remotely. Go to LCTV.org and scroll down to find the live stream. 

This meeting brings together aquaculture business representatives, state legislators, oyster harvesters, local selectboards, the Department of Marine Resources (DMR), fishermen, and scientists for the purpose of a shared dialogue on the issues. The goal is for all to learn more of the concerns of others relative to this important industry and to lay the groundwork for compromises that ensure the balancing of the uses and needs of all.

The rest of the week is as follows: 

• On Wednesday, Nov. 22, LCTV has an all-new Damariscotta Chamber Chat with Simmons Seafood owners Gregory and Amy Simmons at 7 p.m. on local channel 7 and LCTV.org.

• For Thanksgiving Day, tune in at 7 p.m. for a Wuzzup News Classic show.

• On Friday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m., LCTV is pleased to present the eleventh episode of Vintage Racers Roundtable with hosts Pete Silva, Maine Motorsports Hall of Famer and New England Racers Hall of Famer and Ken Minot, president of the Maine Vintage Race Car Association. Their guests are Maine racing legends Ronnie Benjamin, Dave St. Clair, and Norm Sherman. This episode covers the racers’ careers and their families’ long-time dedication to racing in Maine.

• This month’s “Putting the Y in Community” show is on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. with host Sally Farrell, director of operations for the CLC YMCA. Her guests this month are CLC YMCA CEO Casey Clark Kelley and CLC YMCA Director of Outreach and Community Navigation Karen-Ann Hagar-Smith. This episode focuses on the Community Navigation program and the exciting news that this “one-stop shop” for helping people access needed resources is expanding to cover all of Lincoln County. 

• On Sunday, Nov 26 at 7 p.m., please join us for a Damariscotta Historical Society presentation on the the History of Blacksmithing. Jeffrey Miller of Flintlock Forge in Waldoboro brings 50 years of study and research to his traditional blacksmith work. His talk “The Blacksmith’s Seasonal Work” will focus on the various needs of a community that the Colonial blacksmith might address during an average year.
