Ocean Point Column: Sue Clark’s new book and more
Our season is officially over as the water has been turned off. Once again, thanks to the BRWD for all of their efforts in servicing us throughout the season. We all look forward to spring when we may return to our beautiful peninsula.
Thanks to our year-round residents and others who post photos on the Facebook page, we are able to return to Ocean Point whenever we have the opportunity which is such a treat.
Sue Clark, who as you know is the administrator of All Things Ocean Point and author of the book “Past Images of Ocean Point,” is currently working on a new book which she announced on the Facebook page.
Sue has been quite busy compiling material for the book and has visited with many of us who possess pictures and memorabilia. Sue is grateful for the outpouring of information and enthusiasm for her new book. Sue would like to remind everyone that there is still time to submit items for the book and is accepting photos either scanned or pictures of photos until December. Sue is also capable of editing old photos in poor condition.
Knowing Sue’s knowledge and expertise regarding Ocean Point’s past I’m sure this next book will be just as interesting and exciting. Contact Sue at latitude43designs@hotmail.com.
Our condolences to Charlotte (Merton) Logan on the recent passing of her husband Jack on Oct. 7. Jack touched many lives throughout his 40-year career as an educator in the Wilbraham-Hampden Massachusetts Regional School District serving as a teacher, vice principal and principal. Jack enjoyed many outdoor activities as well as travel.
While vacationing at their cottage Jack could often be seen sitting on the porch enjoying the beautiful view.
Our thoughts are with Jack’s wife Charlotte, his daughter Christine Lightner and son John and his three grandchildren, Emma and Lauren Lightner, Kendall Logan and his bothers Wayne and Harold.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104.
It appears as though the weather will be warming up a bit this week, enjoy and have a great week!
