Lincoln County Republicans meet Oct. 25
The Lincoln County Republican Committee’s next meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the American Legion, 25 Industrial Park Road, Boothbay. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the public portion of the meeting starts at 6 .
Energy industry expert, Jim LaBrecque, will discuss the Question 3 regarding privatizing Maine’s electric distribution assets and establishing taxpayer owned Pine Tree Power. LaBrecque is an inventor and energy expert with multiple patents. His resume includes serving as a University of Maine thermodynamics instructor, WVOM radio commentator and technical advisor to Governor Paul LePage. He and his Bangor based, FlexWare Control Technology Company, create FlexCube modules and fluid pump control stations for refrigeration systems for large grocery stores in Maine and the Northeast. Jim has been a strong advocate for the use of heat pumps and other technologies that produce energy in an efficient cost-saving way.
Ed Harmon, president of V.E.T.S., Veterans Emergency Temporary Shelter, will then talk about his Boothbay company’s mission to build shelters for homeless veterans. A few years ago, Ed Harmon learned of a homeless veteran who died due to a lack of shelter. Drawn to action, he started a company dedicated to building short term shelters for homeless vets. Come and hear Ed’s story, learn about his company and find out how you can help.
