News and Notes from the Community Center
I did not hear from any editors … I blew it. Acorns come from Oak trees, not Elm trees as I tried to make you believe. And then my next blunder: maybe there wasn’t sun on the Equinox; I don’t remember. But there was daylight, almost equal amounts in both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. And then my next goof. I said at the bottom of my column, “summer is here.” No, I am not riding on any mythical train, just not paying attention! But we did have a summer-like day last Sunday! Now that I have treated you all to fake news, I’ll now commence with some real stuff!
Pat McKee will resume her dance classes on Wednesday, Oct. 18, here at The Community Center. Mark your calendars. Caution… She’s in very good shape, having taught her dance class all summer outside at Spruce Point Inn.
Another new class! Mary Baudo will instruct us on Balance Tricks and Tips. Her class will run for four consecutive Monday afternoons from 1 to 2 beginning on Oct. 23. Please call the Community Center 633-9876 to sign up for Pat’s and Mary’s classes.
And Jean Larkin would love to teach anyone interested in beginning drawing. There is still room for more classes, so if you have some gift you’d like to share with a group, please feel free to contact us. Thank you.
On Fridays only from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for a few more weeks, the Food Pantry will deliver beautiful, very fresh lettuces and veggies. Please bring a bag and help yourself! To whet your appetite, check out our Facebook page Friday mornings to see a photo of our latest delivery. I don’t know how much longer will be the beneficiary of these beautiful fresh veggies.
