Larry Brown from the Boothbay Harbor Police Department has been on a roll to encourage everyone to get reflective blue Emergency Signs for their homes. They are easily visible from the road and help first responders find your location. Larry’s done a fantastic job of getting out the word. We have recently prepared over 20 signs for folks requesting them, but now please pick up your signs! And we’re happy to make more. They cost $20 for numbers on one side, $25 for numbers on two sides.

Thank you for your response for sweets! We now have a fresh supply of cookies, crackers, and candy! If you are in a baking mood, we’d love to have some homemade cookies, brownies, etc. to put into our freezer for future use. Thank you in advance. These donations will continue to keep our volunteers and guests happy!

Looking for ideas: We would love to offer some new and different classes this fall. Would anyone like to teach a small exercise or creative class for an hour or so per week? We are open to all suggestions. Pat McKee, I’ve heard, will begin her dance class again in later September or early October. And Jean Larkin would love to teach anyone interested in beginning drawing.

Vegetable Deliveries: On Fridays only from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for a few more weeks, the Food Pantry will deliver beautiful, very fresh lettuces and veggies by the box full! Please bring a bag and help yourself! To whet your appetite, check out our Facebook page Friday mornings to see a photo of our latest delivery. (www.facebook.com/boothbaycommunitycenter.)

Transportation needs for the community are increasing! We would love extra help volunteering to drive folks who do not have the ability to get to medical appointments, the grocery store, or personal care appointments. If you have a reliable car, up-to-date insurance, and a few extra hours once in a while, we’d love to have you help The Community Center with this critical need. Please call The Community Center if you would like to help us. 633-9876. Thank you in advance.
