Celebrate summer’s end with Booktoberfest
As summer draws to a close, we begin to look forward to a new season of warm sweaters, crackling fires and cozy afternoons full of reading. To appease the need to read, BHML is excited to announce a fall festival on the library lawn!
Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library will host its third annual Booktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The main event will be a gigantic used book sale featuring titles for all ages collected and curated by the Friends of the Library Used Book Store. All proceeds from the sale of books go directly toward supporting library services for the community.
Booktoberfest visitors will also be able to purchase handmade crafts from BHML’s fiber arts group, Stitch Craft, grab a literary-themed soft pretzel from Plot Twist Pretzels and enjoy beautiful bouquets from Veggies to Table.
“Hopefully many folks will stop by to explore the books on sale and leave with their perfect haul, full bellies, and a renewed connection to the Used Book Store and BHML,” Development Manager Savannah Fields said. “I'm thrilled to have a part in organizing this year's Booktoberfest, a truly collaborative event supported by volunteers, trustees, staff, and our sponsors.”
Footbridge Brewery returns as a sponsor for the event and will offer a special deal for book buyers: spend ten dollars at the book sale and get a free pour of your favorite brew at Footbridge Brewery.
Additional Booktoberfest activities will include lawn games, raffles and a special appearance by members of the N1MHC Ham radio team to help participants send a radio message to a friend anywhere in the world!
