News and Notes from the Community Center
Rain, rain, rain. Fog, fog, fog. Go away! Everything is soaked! More ugh! Is this the new Climate Change? We need to make a difference!
On Saturday, July 22, Lucy Cressey will help you Find your Family (genealogy) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please join her at The Community Center for a special trip into your history. Lucy is a guru at helping folks. Any questions, please feel free to call us at 633-9876.
More Lobsters: Are you ready to enter our next drawing for a Bucket ‘A Lobsters? From now through August, we will be selling raffle tickets here at The Community Center, for a drawing on Sept. 1. Beginning in August, we will also be selling raffle tickets at The Farmers’ Market at the Boothbay Common on Thursday mornings. $10 for one ticket to win 10 free lobsters or $20 to purchase 3 tickets. Increase your odds. Buy lots of tickets! Labor Day feast is coming! Yummmm.
On Fridays during the summer, the Food Pantry delivers to us beautiful, very fresh lettuce and veggies by the box full!. Please bring a bag and help yourself! To whet your appetite, check out our Facebook page to see the picture of our latest delivery. (www.facebook.com/boothbaycommunitycenter.)
And now for a sneak preview… Dwight and Duane Lewis (our former Southport bridge tenders) gave a roaringly successful talk at the Historical Society last week. Unfortunately, many people could not attend due to space limitations. Well, here’s your chance! The twins have agreed to repeat their performance (actual they never repeat…) at The Community Center on Wednesday, August 2 from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. Look for flyers to be posted around town.
