Dorothy F. “Dot or Dottie” Lindemann, of Ocean Point, Boothbay passed away on March 2, 2023 at her Brielle, New Jersey home at the age of 101.

Dot was born on April 2, 1921 in Boonton, New Jersey to Mary and Joseph Greffe. She attended high school in Boonton. On March 23, 1946 she married Conrad H. Lindemann of Glen Ridge, New Jersey and settled in Herbertsville, New Jersey where they owned and operated a 13-acre chicken farm. During this period, Conrad was also a science and math teacher at nearby Lakewood High School. After many years, the farm was converted into Cherokee Day Camp and Dorothy became known as “Aunt Dot” to hundreds of local children.

In the early 1970s, Dot and Conrad started spending summers at Sunnyledge, their cherished cottage on Shore Road in Ocean Point, thereby continuing a long-time family tradition begun in 1931. Warm, caring, and compassionate, she was a friend to all who lived on the Point; she never had a bad word to say about anyone and kept everyone in her daily prayers.

Dot was predeceased by parents Mary and Joseph Greffe; siblings Joseph Greffe, John Greffe, Howard Greffe, William Greffe, George Greffe, Mary Greffe, Anna Pierce, Katherine Howe, Sally McGuire, Helen Estler, and Margaret Fichtner; husband Conrad Henry Lindemann; grandson Marine LCpl.
