Dear Editor:

I was recently inducted into our Boothbay Harbor Rotary. As a new member I can truly say I have never been welcomed and treated with such friendliness and support.

I am a retired nurse and one of my outstanding hospital presidents once gave each nursing unit $10,000 to spend anyway that would make them feel appreciated or help their practice. That is what joining Rotary is like for me – $10,000 worth of generosity and friendship. Rotary is all about service and friendship. For example, it is/was World Polio Day Oct. 24 and Rotary was and is key in eradicating polio worldwide. Call me grateful to be associated with Rotary.
