Wrong figures
Dear Editor:
Last week’s Boothbay Register article highlighted a lot coverage disagreement between Waterfront Preservation and our abutter, the Doyles.
The Doyles’ attorney repeated the claim that our approved site plan contains 62% lot coverage. Our landscape architect has calculated the lot coverage for our site plan number at 29.4% (reduced from 98% of the Cap’n Fish Motel). It appears the Doyles are mistakenly including the large concrete piers over the water in their calculation.
“Lot area” does not include the area below mean high water per both the town ordinance and DEP Chapter 1000 standards. The 62% lot coverage narrative is a misrepresentation that should be retracted and removed from the Doyles’ weekly Boothbay Register advertisement.
By way of comparison, the Doyles recently redeveloped their own lot to the same 40% impervious coverage that pre-existed their ownership.
