Dear Editor,

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Ham and Helen Meserve and the Harbor Theater for the opportunity to offer a personal perspective on the war in Ukraine in conjunction with their showing of “The Earth Is Blue As An Orange.” The movie is a documentary that took shape through a young Ukrainian family’s own filmmaking process as they tried to make sense of life while living through the war in Donbass that predated the current siege on their country.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank the Friends of the Harbor Theater for their interest in the humanitarian crisis created by Putin’s war and their generous donations to HelpUkraine22.

HelpUkraine22, a 501(c)3 organization, is focused on filling gaps in humanitarian aid through fast action and the direct targeting of those who are most vulnerable.
