Alyssa Allen announces candidacy for selectman
Boothbay Harbor resident Alyssa Allen has announced she is a candidate for one of the seats on the Boothbay Harbor Board of Selectmen.
“I am reaching out to you, my friends, and my community, to ask for your support and endorsement by voting for me on May 7 for the Boothbay Harbor Board of Selectmen, said Allen. "Many of you may know me from serving you at Lobsterman’s Wharf, McSeagulls, Newagen Seaside Inn, Linekin Bay Resort and currently First National Bank. Perhaps seen me lately at ribbon-cutting ceremonies celebrating new businesses of the region on behalf of Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce or doing check presentations of donations from First National Bank to local food pantries in Lincoln County. To those who don’t know me, I look forward to meeting you!
“As someone who was raised in this community, now raising my son in this community and working for a community bank after years in the hospitality industry, the recurring theme is community. Civic duty is a commitment and an honor. Volunteering, shopping local, actively participating and being kind are things that I feel strongly about and stand for.
“I am grateful for the ability to be raised on the water in this beautiful harbor which created my love for the water and the region along with my respect for it. Grateful and fortunate that the years of hard work in the hospitality industry allowed me to stay here, work here, and raise my son here. Volunteering on the Lobster Boat Race committee, Rebuilding Together, Claw Down, Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, marketing and events committee, Harbor Lights, finance committee, Boothbay Lights, filling Holiday Meal Bags for the Community Resource Council (formerly BRCRC), or fundraising for local benefits are a few of the ways I have shown and show my appreciation for this community.
“Listening to others and working collaboratively to find creative solutions for challenges is something I pride myself on and is of utmost importance. I look forward to the opportunity of serving this community. Please feel free to reach out with questions at alyssallenBBHME@gmail.com and don’t forget to get out and vote! Please like and share to spread the word and to share my name with those I may not know or know me.”
