Irma Heaberlin, daughter of Archie Brewer and Julia (Alley) Brewer, and wife of Bennett Heaberlin whom all predeceased her, passed away on Dec. 8, 2020 at Boothbay Green, with her daughter at her side, due to complications from her congestive heart failure. Irma was the third youngest of 13 children.

Irma was born April 24, 1931 and was raised in Boothbay Harbor where she remained her whole life. She worked in various jobs but will probably be most remembered for owning and operating Heaberlin's Restaurant with her husband Ben.

Irma (known by most as Mammo) loved strawberry picking in the summer, making pies for family and friends, and watching the birds out her window in her bird-feeders, she especially loved her Red Cardinals (and occasionally could be heard shooting off her cap-gun out her kitchen window scaring the squirrels out of the feeders). She loved to play a good hand of poker and always enjoyed someone stopping by in the evening when all knew she would be enjoying her glass of wine, particularly Thursdays, as this was the day most knew family members were likely to be there and all were welcome. Irma really enjoyed and loved going for a ride with one of her sons, Rick or Martin, out around the area, especially this time of the year to see all the holiday lights.

Irma was the loving mother (and mother-in-law) to son Rick Heaberlin and wife Carol of Alna, son Martin Heaberlin and wife Litty of Bethel and daughter Julia Simmons and husband Bradley of East Boothbay.

Irma loved her children dearly but especially loved her role as 'Mammo' to her eight grandchildren and their significant others; Bryan and wife Melissa Heaberlin of Georgia, Nicholas Heaberlin of Edgecomb, Mindy and husband Mike Jones of Alna, Benjamin Heaberlin of Boothbay Harbor, Mallory and husband Joe Luksic of South Bristol, Jessica Simmons and Ryan Babcock of Edgecomb, Chelsea Simmons and John Hepburn of East Boothbay and Jeremy Simmons of Boothbay Harbor and her 12 great-grandchildren; Doug, Jake, Josh, Skyler, Cole, Noah, Nicholas, Rick-Wyatt, Nayden, Nason, Octavio (Tavi) and Natalie.

She was loved by all and made friends everywhere she went and could strike up a conversation with any passer-by. She will be dearly missed by all. We love and will miss you always Mom/Mammo.

We would like to say thank you to the staff at the Boothbay Green, who she became fond of, that cared for and supported her during her time there.

There will be a graveside service and celebration of life in the spring/summer of 2021 (and with any luck post-COVID)
