Why I am voting for Maxmin
Dear Editor:
I am a proud resident of Lincoln County. As someone who cares deeply about our neighbors, please, consider voting for someone I am honored to support- Chloe Maxmin. I got to know Chloe when I was working on a handful of agriculture and food systems bills last January and February. I was struck by how engaged she seemed during several hours of testimony from members of the public and how thoughtful her questions were.
As I have gotten to know Chloe better, I am further impressed with her ability to work with anyone, no matter their party affiliation or other identities. Even though she is not my representative, she has been gracious enough to help me with issues and concerns that I have brought to her attention. That kind of selfless dedication to public service and responsiveness to constituents (or, in my case, a person outside of her district) is a key feature of a well-functioning democracy. Additionally, Chloe’s understanding of government and its role in supporting a healthy, resilient, thriving community leads to meaningful legislative outcomes. Most importantly, her ability to work with others and represent all members of her community with a genuine passion for humans means she gets effective legislation passed.
Having Chloe represent our community as the senator of Maine District 13 in Augusta will bring great opportunities for our district, because she knows how to find common ground, fights for all of those she represents, understands how to leverage positive change in the legislature, and is one of the hardest working folks I’ve ever met.
Get out to the polls on Nov. 3, and when you do, vote for Chloe Maxmin for Maine Senate District 13!
