Maine State Music Theatre (MSMT) will hold local children’s auditions for both “Frozen, Jr.,” and “The Sound of Music.” Both auditions will be held at 22 Elm St. in Brunswick. These are open call auditions. Come early to sign up and you will be seen in order of sign-up sheet. Child actors should prepare a 16-bar cut (less than one minute) that best shows ability and range. Must bring head shot and resume, and sheet music printed and clearly marked. Pianist will be present.
“Frozen, Jr. “ auditions for will be held Sunday, Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with call backs if selected at 3 p.m. This audition is for children 8 to 18 years old (cannot turn 19 during the period of April 6 through July 20). Rehearsals are held April 6-July 6 (approximate dates, week of April 20 off, with performances on July 20. All roles are available and this show will be cast only with local children.
“The Sound of Music” auditions will be held on Sunday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with call backs if selected at 2 p.m. This audition is for children 8 to 17 years old. Rehearsals run June 27-July 15, with performances July 15-Aug. 1.
