Lobsterman’s Wharf renovation underway
An East Boothbay restaurant known for its waterfront dining is getting a rebuild. Lobsterman’s Wharf is being torn apart and its aging foundation is being shored up. Miller Holdings, LLC owns both Lobsterman’s Wharf and Ocean Point Marina. Dan and Eileen Miller own the limited liability company. In July 2018, the Millers requested planning board approval for renovating the restaurant’s wharf, replacing pilings and the foundation of the property’s nearby fish house, and installing a walking gangway from the jetty off Ocean Point Marina’s parking lot.
The Millers provided requested current and proposed restaurant dimensions showing the whole dock and foundation replacement wouldn’t make the structure more non-conforming. However, the board only approved work on the restaurant, and plans for renovating the fish house and installing the walkway were withdrawn.
Lobsterman’s Wharf seats 170 (90 outside and 80 inside). In 2018, Dan Miller told planning board members the restaurant will still seat 170, but the number of outside seats would increase.
