Edgecomb Community Church will hold a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 6, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Kate Pinkham will be on hand to present blessings to the animals. The event is open to the community, and all types of animals are welcome. Blessing of the Animals occasions often take place at the beginning of October, around the time of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, in remembrance of his love for all creatures.
The blessing will be held at the Labyrinth in the Field, located in the field to the left when facing the front of the church building. In the case of rain, the event will be moved into Fellowship Hall. Pets must be on a leash or in kennels or crates. You are also welcome to bring a photograph of your pet if they cannot be with you. Stuffed animals are welcome, too. A Certificate of Blessing will be given to all participants. Refreshments will be available for our two-footed and four-footed friends.
