It’s the last weekend of the annual Student Art Show at Boothbay Region Art Foundation. If you haven’t seen this show yet, make a point of it.
Boothbay Region Elementary School art students’ “Starry, Starry Night” covers an entire wall at BRAF and is a real show stopper. Then there are the Aboriginal dot paintings and spirit sticks by the students at Boothbay Region High School (being created with paints the late artist Bill Harris donated); and works by students at Southport Central School and Edgecomb Eddy. Check out the explosion books, string art, selfies, full-length body images, copper wire jewelry, pickled people (too fun), and collaged landscapes.
Show dates: Thursday, May 16 through Sunday, May 19, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Art Foundation, 1 Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor.
