Jump Rope for Heart

Tuesday, May 15, 2018 - 09:25 pm

The Boothbay Region Elementary School Jump Rope for Heart had 20 students participate this year. The event is sponsored by the American Heart Association in schools nationwide and helps raise money for those with cardiovascular diseases and for research to develop treatments. Students participating in the event learn new skills while getting exercise and working toward helping their schools win gift certificates for physical education equipment.

The BRES students raised $3,200 this year. Top fundraisers were Suzie Edwards ($1,202), Maria Michael ($501) and Chase Licursi ($310).
