Chamber advisory board established
The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce, a 501 (c) (6) non-profit organization, is pleased to announce the establishment of a Chamber Advisory Board. The establishment and policies of the Advisory Board have been written into the Chamber bylaws and were voted on and accepted by the full board of directors on Nov. 14, 2017.
The Advisory Board will be comprised of business and community leaders who have the necessary expertise, skills, and practical experience to help board members understand certain issues and concerns of the Chamber. Advisors can help gather information, facilitate peer-to-peer interaction and advise the board on reaching fully-informed decisions in the effective operations of the Chamber.
Advisory Board members can offer a unique perspective on issues that are independent from the board and staff and their role will be to offer guidance versus governance. Advisors may attend regular board meetings but will be non-voting members. In addition, advisors can help promote and heighten the awareness of the Chamber and its programs and assist the Chamber board in exercising its due diligence in both its regular duties and in the best interests of the membership and community it serves.
